Moto M finally launched in India with 64 GB storage and 4 GB RAM,1080p,lcd display,Helio P15.

Moto finally on 13th Dec'16  launched 'Moto M' its budget device in Mumbai,India with some decent specs.

Physical overview

Moto M finally has been gifted with a complete metal unibody which only adds to the charm of the phone makes it feel more plush.            

Back of moto m

On the top this device has a 3.5mm headphone jack, right side of this phone hosts a power button sharing the space with volume rockers.

On the left side there is nothing, and on the bottom is the USB-C type charging port and speakers which has dolby atmos surround output.Back side of this phone has its heart, a 16 MP auto focus camera and a faster fingerprint sensor which moto claims is blazing fast.Two antenna bands are seen running over the top and bottom of the rear side of this device.This phone weighs around 163 gm amd is much thinner with 7.85mm thickness.

Inside the box

Inside the box of this phone we get a handset, charger(ofcouse usb-c type),sim ejector tray,headphones are also bundled inside the box to my surprise,warranty card and other literature booklets,back cover.

Display

This device sports a 5.5 inch full hd display with a resolution of 1080 * 1920 pixels resulting in a screen density of 401 ppi.

This display has to be much clearer,crisper,brighter and better.

Processor and OS

Moto m is packed with a mediatek helio P15 processor of which i am not a fan of.P15 is a octa core processor with two sets of quad core, one set clocked at higher clock speed i.e 2.2 GHz and other set at lower 1.8 GHz.

Helio P15

This is a 64 bit processor developed by mediatek.

The phone runs on Android 6.0 marshmallow and promises to provide a much stock android experience like the other moto devices.Mali T860 MP2 gpu is found in this phone.This phone is also splash proof as it has that nano coating that doesn't mean you can take this phone for a swim.

Camera

This phone has a 16 MP auto focus camera with PDAF, HDR,Panorama.Camera has a f 2.0 aperture to capture more light and add details to the picture.This camera can record a video upto 1080p resolution and earlier moto g4 plus was also known for its amazing camera which threw all the other phones out of competition when it came to camera aspect.

Moto m rear camera

Dual tone dual colour led flash is present to the rear of the phone below the camera.

The front shooter is a 8 MP fixed focus camera to click stunning selfies.

Storage and RAM

64 GB storage is available with 4 GB of ram option and 32 GB storage is available with 3 GB ram.

Further the memory can be expanded through the micro sd card upto 128 GB.This dual sim phone has a hybrid slot which either supports 2 sim or a nano sim and micro sd card at a time.

Lately, we have seen many phones getting launched with the hybrid sim slot solutions.

Battery

The device is loaded with a 3050 mAH battery which is non-user replacable and can provide you enough juice to last your phone for a full working day.

Sensors

This phone does not miss out on any basic as well as important sensor like samsung-which has now got a trade mark to skip every basic sensors on its budget phones which might degrade its budget value phones.

Well, back to the point moto m has fingerprint sensor,ambient light sensor,proximity sensor,accelerometer,gyroscope sensor,e-compass sensor.

Price and Availability.

Moto m will be sold exclusively via flipkart from 14th december 2016 midnight onwards.

The price for 4 GB ram model is 17,999 Rs and 15,999 Rs for 3 GB ram model.The phone is also sold on easy EMI option starrting from 776 Rs and some discounts are being offered on selected credit and debit cards.

Rivals

This phone has to compete with Samsung galaxy J7 2016 edition, Mi Max for its price range,Zuk Z2 is priced somewhere similar for the 4 GB ram model of moto m.

Final verdict

Moto has been trying to go leaps and bounds ahead of its competitors.After the success of its G and E series the moto is finally back with the new m series to try its luck.We always saw moto launching their phones either with plastic body or with glass and metal in some cases like moto Z.But with the moto m, moto has moved a step ahead because of its all metal unibody design which is worth to cherish.

All other phones except X and Z series phones have been slotted in the budget range and same has been done with the m line up so far.

Although this phone is housed with a mediatek processor but the wait would be worth to see how this phone manages to perform in daily use and how well does it handle the heavy games and its graphics.

We are keen to also see whether the phone has got that moto g4 plus camera and overheating issue in heredity or has it overcome the issue and enhanced the end user experience of this phone.
