Xiaomi Mi6 launched with snapdragon 835,6 GB RAM,dual rear camera 12mp+12mp,splash resistant but no 3.5mm headphone jack.
Will Mi6 be the game changer for xiaomi in the flagship segment?This question will only be answered once xiaomi launches their latest flagship in India.Success of this phone is very crucial for xiaomi considering the performance of their last flagship Mi5 in India.Although Mi5 was quite a good phone, it could not make very well to the indian market.
But xiaomi is trying to turn that with their latest flagship.
Mi6 was launched in china recently and the prices announced are really aggressive keeping the specs at eye sight.

Mi6 has four side curved 3D glass which adds to the elegance of this phone but also adds to the risk of breaking the glass.It sports a 5.15 inch full HD display(428 ppi) with front camera and speaker at the top which doubles up as the front firing speaker and fingerprint sensor at bottom. Xiaomi decided not to go with high resolution display but at the same time they have reduced the glare on the screen.
At the rear there is dual camera setup with dual tone dual led flash alongside and Mi branding at the bottom.Knowing that this device is all glass, it has to be believed that this device is surely going to be a fingerprint magnet.On the top there is nothing,at the bottom there is a speaker grill with the USB-C type charging port and no 3.5 mm jack:(Yes, you read it right.This time xiaomi has ditched the 3.5mm jack and making it to the list of apple and le eco.This is definitely not a welcome move looking at the conditions of other devices that have skipped this jack.On the right side there are volume rockers and power button while on the left there is dual nano sim tray with no dedicated micro sd card slot. Xiaomi has confirmed that this phone is splash resistant but we don,t know about the IP certification.This phone just weighs around 162 gm for regular variant and 182 gm for ceramic variant.

Camera
This is the department where Mi6 may outperform its rivals.Mi6 sports a dual camera setup with 12 mp + 12mp at rear and 8 mp front camera.

First lens is the 12 mp wide angle lens with f 1.8 and another being the 12 mp telephoto lens with f 2.6 accompanied by a dual tone dual led flash, phase detection auto focus(PDAF).Rear camera is capable of shooting 4K videos.
Front camera is a 8 mp shooter which can shoot upto 1080 p videos.

Processor and OS
Xiaomi Mi6 is powered by all new Qualcomm snapdragon 835 chipset. This chipset is built on 10nm platform hence making it more power efficient and this is the second phone besides samsung galaxy S8 powered by Snapdragon 835.

This chipset is an octa core processor with one set of quad core clocked at 2.45 GHz and another quad core set at 1.9 GHz.This has to be the best chipset from the qualcomm in terms of power efficiency.
This phone is coupled with Adreno 540 GPU for flawless gaming.SD 835 supports quick charge 4 but is it enabled on this device is yet to be confirmed.
Mi6 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with custom MIUI 8.0 on the top.Its high time that xiaomi should bring some major changes to their UI with latest updates.

Battery and storage.
This device can easily run for a full working day with 3350 mAh non removable battery.Considering the fact that screen is just a 5.15 inch full hd display and much power efficient processor present, this phone has to perform really well in day to day usage.
This is the first phone from xiaomi with 6 GB ram but just to remind you that ram management has always been an issue with xiaomi. Hope they change the trend with this latest launch.
64 and 128 GB variants are available with no dedicated micro sd card slot.

This phone is available in ceramic,black,white and all new blue colour. This blue colour with all glass around looks really stunning.
One special thing about the ceramic edition is it will come with the gold plated rings around the dual camera setup:)

Final verdict.
Looking at the specs on the paper this phone is really a beast but nothing can be concluded with just the specs on the paper.
Xiaomi has always been late in launching their flagships in India or rather being sceptical about the performance of their flagships in India.
Their prime focus in India has been the budget segment and mid ranger devices.
Hope they launch Mi6 in India soon because there has been a great hype about this phone after all the leaks and renders but this won't stay for long because other brands will come with their devices anytime in near future.
If Xiaomi still makes it late to India then they themselves would be responsible again for the failure of their flagship in India because leaks also suggest that one plus is in process with one plus 5 and it might come somewhere in June and one plus has the history of hitting the bulls eye with respect to their flagships.
Considering the aggressive pricing there are chances that Mi6 might end up doing really well in Indian market if launched on time and yeah,with all the variants unlike the Mi5.
